vintage Tibetan rug, 5'6"x3'0"
Measures: 5’6” x 3’0”
100% wool pile on cotton foundation
/ / / A rare vintage Tibetan rug- with a unique tonal color way. The navy field color is complimented by so many lovely soft hues and a more geometric design. These Tibetan rugs are made with a thick cotton foundation giving them a heavier handle and plush feel- truly even more magical in person.
/ / / condition: very good vintage condition, with some re-piling repairs as shown in photos. The side borders are slightly wavy which can be mitigated with the right rug pad. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
/ / / care: vacuum your rug carefully, avoiding the fringe. Spot clean with warm water and mild wool specific soap. I highly recommend using a rug pad to keep your rug in place, it will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug.
/ / / pile: medium/dense/plush/soft
/ / / pile height: 3/8”
/ / / weight: medium/heavy (rug pad recommended)
/ / / colors: navy, tangerine, sea foam, tulip, mocha, pale sallow green, milk chocolate, deep maroon, faded tomato, yellow mustard, apricot, beige, bone
/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, south-facing windows on a mostly cloudy Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
