/ / / A rare vintage Tibetan rug- with a cheerful colorful palette and a dare I say psychedelic design with hearts and peacock feather like medallions. This beauty has gorgeous 3 dimensional relief in the pile, meaning the pile is cut by hand around some of the designs creating a 3D effect. These Tibetan rugs are made with a thick cotton foundation giving them a heavier handle and plush feel- truly even more magical in person.
/ / / condition: very good vintage condition, with a slight taper from 3’0” to 2’11” on one end. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
/ / / care: vacuum your rug carefully, avoiding the fringe. Spot clean with warm water and mild wool specific soap. I highly recommend using a rug pad to keep your rug in place, it will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug.
