vintage Persian Karaja runner rug, 5'5"x2'1"
Measures: 5’5” x 2’1”
100% wool pile on cotton foundation
/ / / This vintage Persian Karaja runner rug has been cut down from a larger runner likely to preserve the portion still in beautiful condition. We love the story that these old rugs tell and the high quality of them that is meant to last longer than we all will. Use this beauty in smaller more narrow space like beside the bed or in a hallway. This beauty could also be perfect for a narrow entryway or backdoor and will easily stand up to a high traffic home.
/ / / condition: this is a rug fragment in very good vintage condition, with a slight taper in width from 2’1” to 1’10”. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
/ / / care: vacuum your rug carefully, avoiding the fringe. Spot clean with warm water and mild wool specific soap. I highly recommend using a rug pad to keep your rug in place, it will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug.
/ / / pile: low/velvety
/ / / pile height: 1/4”
/ / / weight: medium (rug pad recommended)
/ / / colors: shades of cranberry, brick red, geranium pink, rose, tulip, wine, oxblood, elm green, olive green, grey, mustard, curry, charcoal black, bone
/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, south-facing windows on a sunny Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
