/ / / gorgeous hand knotted vintage Afghan rug. This rug not only has soft muted colors but it is also incredibly soft underfoot because of its ultra dense pile. Rare greens and warm earthy hues make this piece understated and timeless. A perfect rug for the bedroom- she’s a special beauty! I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.
/ / / condition: very good vintage condition. With a slightly organic shape and some expertly done patch repairs as shown in photos, as well as note the texture of the pile in the close up photo. It has been professionally cleaned, restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
