I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.
/ / / condition: good antique condition. This rug is slightly non-rectangular, as seen in the photos. There are areas of low and zero pile on this rug, and the wrapping in the selvedges is missing in some areas (see photo #8 for reference). This rug has been professionally restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles.
