/ / / gorgeous vintage silk Indian panel rug with rare colors and the most charming candelabras, vases, and flowers bouquet motifs in the field. Because of the silk pile, this rug has a beautiful silvery glow when the light hits it. It’s also quite hard to capture in a photograph, and in my opinion is one of those rugs that really blows your mind in. person. I love thinking about the history of old rugs-where in the world have they been? What homes have they lived in? There is a certain romance and mystery to these hand knotted pieces of art.

/ / / condition: very good vintage condition, with a couple areas where the silk pile has worn to the cotton foundation due to foot traffic, as best seen in photo #8. There is also a repair to the overbidding that we did here in the EV studio- we used a soft pink thread to bring attention to the repair as an ode to our focus on intentional mending. It’s not greatly noticeable in the grand scheme of the rug, and is seen in photo #12. This rug has been professionally restored and the headends secured, ensuring many, many more years of life. I highly recommend using rug pad with grip backing to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping-using a rug pad will also protect your rug from damage, and therefore prolong the life of your rug. But really- get a rug pad! I have handpicked this rug specifically for its rustic, timeworn appeal. It may have other small imperfections- which is part of the charm of these old textiles. I want you to love your rug! Please look at the photos carefully and ask any and all questions before purchasing, as all sales are final. This rug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

/ / / pile: low

/ / / weight: medium

/ / / colors: soft tulip, deep indigo, mustard, taupe, pale sage, bone.

/ / / The lighting conditions in the Experimental Vintage studio where these photos are taken are as follows: good natural light coming from a wall of large, east-facing windows on a partly cloudy Portland day. This rug may look darker or brighter in your own space, depending on the natural lighting conditions in your home.
