A 1923 Craftsman bungalow to be truly inspired by
I recently visited the home of interior designer, realtor, and EV client turned friend, Erica Goodfriend of Have Your Cake Realty & Design. She recently listed her home on the market, and after years of watching her space evolve I couldn’t wait any longer to see it in person. This Craftsman Bungalow, built in 1923, has been renovated and curated by Erica top to bottom and boasts the epitome of personal style. With much care, attention to detail, original art, and so much color, Erica has created a maximalist living space that left me feeling utterly inspired...
If some of these photos are looking a little familiar it’s because Erica and her home were featured on the cover and inside the 2025 edition of Williamette Week - Nester magazine!
Erica’s home not only reflects her own personal style and what brings her joy, but is also a true testament to what a home can be when you follow your heart and not whatever is being currently mass produced or is some fleeting trend. If you look at these pictures and think “I wish my home could look like that” well it can, all it really takes is patience, time, and the commitment to follow what makes your own heart sing instead of following along with a popular Pinterest board or anyone else’s opinion really.
Many of Erica’s rugs and pieces of art are from the Experimental Vintage studio and that is just such an honor to see so many of my own favorite finds end up in this space. Erica has curated so many color stories from her kitchen shelves stacked with an eclectic mix of small maker pottery to her bookshelves packed with not only books but, art and tchotchkes too. And the plants, oh the plants…
My biggest take away from my day over at Erica’s house was this- I really need more cool shit at my house.
