On Resolutions
Another year in our back pockets- so much change, growth, laughter, madness, happiness, deep sadness, with equally as much deep awe of how beautiful life can be at times-many, many times. We can’t pick and choose- the ups and downs in the span of a year come as a package that we hopefully learn how to better carry as time goes on and we unfurl into more realized versions of ourselves.
Whether you make resolutions or not, the new year is a great opportunity to reflect on both our past and future selves, and to make adjustments in our lives that will better serve ourselves, and therefore also the collective good. Picking up a hobby. Learning a new skill. Letting something go. Just continuing to work on the positive things you’re already currently working on is a silent prayer of sorts. Isn’t that what resolutions really are— tiny spells we cast to ourselves with the goal of becoming? And becoming takes time, time, and heart and soul, and time.
Thank you 2024 for all of the valuable lessons, and to 2025 for all of the opportunity it brings to us all… the days are literally getting lighter as I write this.
I wanted to leave you with a favorite quote from a favorite author, Sylvia Plath, that really resonates-
“Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it”.
Wishing you and yours the happiest of new years filled with love, growth, presence, and becoming.
Cheers,
Anna
